Cohutta Kenai Hunter
The Kenai Hunter is a knife pattern created with the input from a buddy of knifemaker Russell Reece. An avid outdoorsman living in Alaska sought a knife that would handle the uncertainties of the Alaskan frontier. Alaska being a mixed climate with extreme conditions and large game animals and predators, any chosen tool must be robust enough to handle the challenges of an unforgiving wilderness. The Kenai Hunter was the answer and it is a stout fixed blade that is capable of meeting those challenges when placed in the right hands.
The Kenai Hunter available today is made from tested A2 tool steel with a whisper thin tapered tang. A2 steel provides easy edge maintenance both home and in the field coupled with good all around toughness and performance. As a tool steel, A2 will patina with use if you allow it, giving your knife a personal touch of character that makes it your own. The 1/8″ A2 has a great balance and feel in the hand. The 10 1/4″ overall length with 5 1/8″ of cutting has a working man’s handle with tough Natural Micarta sitting on white g10 and natural micarta liners. Two natural micarta 1/4″ pins and a lanyard tube hold together this 7.38 ounces of wilderness dominating perfection.
