Osprey Knife & Tool – Mini Mamushi
The Osprey Knife and Tool Mini Mamushi is a small everyday carry fixed blade that is small enough to comfortably pocket carry but transitions well into a neck knife type of outdoor camp role. 3/32″ CPM154 with a thin tapered tang sits between beautiful slabs of presentation grade Bastogne Walnut accented by black G10 liners. A large 1/4″ carbon fiber pin and lanyard tube holds it together.
The compact Mini Mamushi in stainless 3/32" CPM-154 is ready to jump in your pocket and get to work. A well done tapered tang sits between beautiful slabs of presentation grade Bastogne Walnut accented by black G10 liners. A large 1/4" carbon fiber pin and lanyard tube pair nicely with the Bastogne Walnut handle. A great small every day fixed blade, but big enough to be actually useful and comfortable to hold.
The Mini Mamushi appears to be an experiment on how far you can take an already popular EDC style knife and shrink it while still having enough blade length for a useful cutting edge and enough handle for a comfortable grip. Both a reduction in handle size and blade length, the Mini Mamushi drops 1 1/4" of overall length from the larger Mamushi while still retaining a useable 3 1/4" cutting edge. The larger Mamushi with a 3 7/8" blade is not that far off from the mini version, but that reduction in overall length makes a noticeable difference when pocket carrying. The shorter handle is also just long enough for a good hold for even larger sized hands.
We find this to be an interesting model in the Osprey lineup and worth exploring as a great EDC fixed blade or bushcrafting neck knife.
Please Note: Sheaths are sold separately for all Osprey Knife and Tool knives. Let us know if you need a recommendation for a custom leather worker.
